Frequently asked
How much roof space do I need?
About 100 sq ft of shadow-free roof per kW. A 10 kW system needs roughly 1,000 sq ft. We confirm the exact figure during a site survey.
Will solar work during monsoon and winter?
Yes. Panels generate in diffuse light, but output is lower on cloudy days. Systems are sized on annual generation, not on the best month.
Does solar work during a power cut?
A standard grid-tied system switches off during an outage for safety. Backup needs a battery or hybrid system, which we can design if you need it.
Is a subsidy available?
Homes and housing societies may be eligible for central government rooftop solar subsidy. Commercial and industrial installations generally are not. Rules and amounts change, so we confirm current eligibility during your consultation.
Can you maintain a plant someone else installed?
Yes. We inspect, clean, test and report on plants regardless of who installed them.
How long does installation take?
The physical installation of a rooftop system is usually quick. Most elapsed time is approvals and net-metering paperwork with the distribution company. You can follow each stage on our tracking page.
